Travel With Me: Spring 2027 Art Vacation in Switzerland
Next June, I'll be returning to a place that changed the way I travel.
One that offers quiet lakes, mountain light, graceful train journeys, and the kind of stillness that allows you to hear yourself think again.
I'm inviting a small group of fellow creatives to join me—not simply for an art workshop, but for a different way of experiencing travel.
Switzerland: Gathering Quiet
June 14–20, 2027
Just two days later, we'll gather again—this time among the lakes and mountains of Switzerland.
Our days unfold between Zurich and Lucerne, where the landscape invites a different rhythm.
Here, there is more space.
More quiet.
More opportunity to slow down.
Our journals may fill with pressed leaves, morning reflections, train tickets, watercolor sketches, and long pauses that somehow become part of the page.
If Spain invites us to gather color...
Switzerland invites us to gather clarity.
Both workshops share the same gentle approach to journaling, collage, mixed media, and creative reflection.
Only the landscape—and perhaps the conversation it begins within us—changes.
There are people who travel to see places.
And there are people who travel to remember them.
Not simply with photographs tucked away on a phone...
but in a way that lets a place settle into them long after they've returned home.
I've been thinking about that lately.
How is it that certain journeys stay with us?
Why do we remember one café more vividly than ten famous landmarks?
Why does a train ticket tucked into a journal still carry the feeling of an afternoon years later?
Why can the scent of orange blossoms or the sound of church bells suddenly transport us halfway across the world?
I don't think it's because we saw more.
I think it's because we noticed more.
That, in many ways, is what these workshops are really about.
Yes, we'll wander beautiful streets.
We'll visit museums and markets, linger in cafés, ride trains, and discover villages that seem almost untouched by time.
But beneath all of that is something quieter.
We're practicing the art of paying attention.
We'll gather the ordinary fragments that most travelers leave behind—a receipt, a pressed flower, a handwritten menu, a splash of watercolor, a few sentences scribbled before breakfast.
Piece by piece, they become something larger than souvenirs.
They become evidence that you were fully present.
That you didn't simply pass through a place.
You allowed it to change you.
More Than a Travel Journal
People sometimes ask if these are art workshops.
In one sense, yes.
You'll learn simple collage and mixed-media techniques.
You'll create a handmade vintage-style journal that becomes a work of art in its own right.
But what we're really making is something harder to describe.
We're making a way of remembering.
A book that can transport you years later—not because every page is perfect, but because every page is alive with the experience of having been there.
I have many journals from my own travels.
When I open them, I don't just remember what happened.
I remember how the air felt.
The conversations.
The color of the light.
The person I was becoming.
That's what I hope these weeks become for everyone who joins me.
Not simply a beautiful vacation.
Not simply an art workshop.
But an invitation to move through the world with greater curiosity, greater presence, and greater wonder.
If the quiet beauty of Switzerland feels like exactly what your soul has been longing for...
I'd love to share this place with you.
Because the most meaningful thing we ever bring home from a journey isn't what's tucked into our suitcase.
It's the person who returns.
